Geomechanics Corner is a technical blog on petroleum geomechanics. The articles published in this blog are mainly chosen to address geomechanical problems in need of more attention from the industrial and scientific community due to their importance, complexity and ambiguity. The main intention of this blog is keeping the writing less complex, clear, and practical for the use of the readers with the minimal familiarity with the subject.

Please leave a comment or use the contact page if you think of anything to be said regarding the contents or any other important matter.

About The Writer

Mehrdad Soltanzadeh is a senior geomechanics advisor with more than 14 years of academic and industrial experience in different fields of geomechanics such as geotechnical engineering, geomechanical characterization of unconventional plays, reservoir-scale thermo-poro-mechanical modeling, caprock integrity assessment, fracture modeling and well design and wellbore stability analysis. His background shows a strong interest in optimizing geomechanical workflows by implementing multi-disciplinary perspectives.

In addition to providing independent consulting services at PetroGem Inc., Mehrdad is currently a Petroskill‘s instructor and a geomechanics advisor to Integrity Insitu.
